‘Sidelines’ was made during a residency with The National Trust, at Mottisfont in Hampshire. It is a response to a famous fishing beat on the River Test within the estate. This unique chalk stream habitat is an SSSI and part of an ancient pilgrimage route. The prints were made using a homemade pinhole camera, a historical photographic process, and focused on overlooked plants that grew on the margins in this rare habitat. The pinhole photographs were developed using chalk stream water, before being translated into a hand-pulled original screen print.
