‘Printed Matter’ was made during a residency with The National Trust, at Mottisfont in Hampshire. It is a response to a famous fishing beat on the River Test within the estate. This unique chalk stream habitat is an SSSI and part of an ancient pilgrimage route. The prints were made using a camera-less, historical photographic process, using plants that grew in this rare habitat. Leaving them in situ for long periods and exposing them to the spontaneous elements of chance, weather and light, resulted in each print becoming a record of both time and place.
