Join Land Art Agency & Collective Co-Founder Elizabeth Gleave in this live online session and discussion, exploring ideas, concepts and insights that offer us creative and inspired ways to interact with our inner and outer worlds.
After the series you will be able to engage in your work and community with confidence and clarity. You will gain practical knowledge on key environmental concepts, develop design skills to create a resonant world to invite audiences in to, open direct lines of communication with your most creative resources, build a wider community and network of creatives engaged in restoring the Earth through the Arts + much more.
The sensitivities of the arts are now called upon to awaken & fortify our communication with the natural world, the seen and the unseen, the micro and the macro, to support our crafting of and emergence into a collaborative & creatively inspired future for our shared existence.
It is evident that humans cannot exist without all of the other species and beings that we are entangled with. As extinctions take place our entanglements begin to unravel. An innate awareness is now called upon to be remembered, looking at ourselves not as one entity but as a link between millions. What other forms of life and natural materials are we sharing our days with? How are they influencing us, how are we influencing them? Only-human stories do not have the necessary capacity to elevate our times and are alive with opportunity to be recrafted & retold.

‘Multispecies scholars are asking how human lives, lifeways, and accountabilities are folded into myraids of entanglements.
What does "multispecies" do differently? First, it aims to decenter the human, striving to achieve some detachment from its precepts, assumptions, and conceits. The starting point of multispecies work is that the "human" is comprised of masses of nonhumans- internal swarms of bacteria, viruses, and fungi vastly outnumber our human cell by a ratio of about 9 to 1. We fundamentally misunderstand the human if we see it as a singular, unified agent; rather, what "we" are as a species is utterly entangled in copious folds of nonhumans, without which we would not exist.’

‘Born into a family of sailors, scientists, master swordsmen, artists and lawyers, philosophers, textile traders, engineers, digital entrepreneurs, gardeners, rally drivers, deep sea divers, and Gordonston’s survivors, I have experienced tapestries of stories, adventures, mysteries and an intuitive curiosity for the world since birth.’
In her own career, this has taken Elizabeth across the world - North, South, East & West. She has supported artists and organisations at every stage of their offerings to confidently and abundantly share their gifts with the world. She has developed international projects in the creative industry in various capacities, from arts festival director, to production & project managing, alongside digital media marketing & communications development; working with associations such as D&AD, Reuters, The Times & The Sunday Times, Photo London, Tate, Suara Festival and White Cube and for private clients such as Sam Lee, Hugo Dalton and Wild Wise. She has also developed programmes to use the arts as a tool for children with social communication difficulties and runs storytelling sessions for children. Elizabeth has been a visiting Lecturer at universities across the UK, including Slade University, Falmouth University & Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts. She is currently a tutor on the MA Marketing & Communications degree at Falmouth University.
With a BA Ist in Photography and an MSc in Environment, Society and Politics, UCL, Elizabeth continues to develop a lifelong dedication to creatively supporting the natural world and founded Land Art Agency & CollectiveLinks to an external site. in order to encourage the creative community to be pioneers in transforming humanity to be perceptively engaged in crafting beautiful futures for all, listening intently to all beings. This was voted project of the year by Elephant magazine & has been featured in numerous publications, talks and events. Alongside these pursuits she has managed and taught on sustainability projects and education programmes around the world, facilitating environmental skills such as: Building with Sustainable Materials, Foraging & Outdoor Wilderness Education for adults and children.
